ELMOS' CEO Dr. Anton Mindl and the members of the board Dr. Klaus Weyer and Reinhard Senf use their remaining time during a Dresden visit to take a look at the building site. They are amazed because of its size. ELMOS secures the financing of the construction project by its comissions for ASIC designs and is standing surety for several million Euro.

Funnily, AMD announced today that they want to invest 2.5 billion US$ into their two factories in Dresden-Wilschdorf during the next years.

Foundation Stone Ceremony
On 5th May 2006 the symbolic foundation stone for the new DMOS development and office building was layed. DMOS employees, representatives of Saxony and Dresden, neighbours, project team  and construction companies as well as members of ELMOS AG and former colleagues took part.
Despite the long and hard winter the foundation stone was layed two weeks ahead of plan.

Snow again last night. But thanks to the worker's speed the snow did not settle in the building pit. To the left you see part of the anchoring machine. The anchors are needed to stabilize the building pit's walls by fixing them to the soil.

In the background you see the railway station, currently also under construction. The left part visible in the pictur will later become the supplies road for the site. In the foreground, planks are inserted between the iron pillars to keep the sides of the pit from caving in.

Though sunny, relics of snow are still visible. In this year, winter leaves Dresden at the end of March. But the nights are not as cold in the city center as atop the slopes that mark off the Elbe river valley.

The pillars to support the northern wall of the pit  are set. Thus, the construction pit gets its form. But as yet, we have no idea how deep it will become.
