Internship: Setup of a single-ended master/slave communication channel

For our department Digital Design we are offering an internship (m/f/d). The topic is Setup of a single-ended master/slave communication channel in the automotive Ethernet standard IEEE Std. 802.3cg™-2019.

During this internship/thesis the following tasks are to be solved

  • Construction of a PCB application board
  • Development of a communication driver, based on the µC board for sending and receiving telegrams
  • Commissioning of the communication channel
  • Analysis and evaluation of the transmitter and receiver of an AE transceiver with regard to
    • Driver self-switching
    • Asymmetries
    • Delays
    • Input resistances
    • Amplitudes
    • Wave shapings
  • Analysis of the interface in the OSI model between PHY and MAC layer
     

Our Requirements

  • Completed basic studies in electrical engineering, information systems technology (or comparable).
  • Experience in the C programming language
  • Experience in PCB layout and initial commissioning
  • Experience in handling laboratory measuring equipment
  • Analog and digital circuit knowledge
  • Understanding of system partitions
